Why The Twilight Zone Is Still Brilliant (And Worth Watching Today)
I’ve heard of a lot of people who simply refuse to watch a show just because it’s in black and white- and all I have to say is… they’re missing out. Even though it was made in the 1950’s and 60’s, The Twilight Zone still stands as one of the best horror anthology series to this day. Where have anthologies gone? Anthologies in today’s streaming environment are a bit lacking. The main players are Black Mirror and Love, Death and Robots. You would think that with today’s short attention spans that anthologies would be booming. But no, most anthologies saw their golden era in the 50’s and 60’s. With the frontrunner being the Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Science Fiction Theatre. There was a short revival in the 80’s with Tales from the Crypt and the Twilight Zone Revival, but we haven’t really seen a true return to this format since.
